Drag a region, or hold ⌘ and Framit detects the window, button or panel under the cursor and snaps to it.

Four ways to capture
One shortcut each, and they behave the way you would guess.
Scrolling capture
Long pages, chat logs, code. Scroll manually or let it scroll, and Framit stitches the result into a single image.
Screen recording
MP4 or GIF, with system audio and microphone, cursor effects and click ripples. Annotate while recording.
Timed capture
The countdown runs first and the selection appears after, so you can open the menu you are trying to capture.
The capture card
Every capture lands in the corner as a small card. Hover it and the actions fade in — copy, copy the recognised text, mark up, pin to the screen, reveal in Finder, move to Trash. Drag the thumbnail straight into another app. Up to three stack, each with its own countdown that pauses when you point at it.
- Text recognition runs in the background and only adds a Copy text button when it actually found something
- Deleting moves the file to the Trash, never an unrecoverable remove
- The card is excluded from screen capture, so it never appears in the next shot

Mark up and pin
Arrows, boxes, highlighter, step numbers, blur, text. Or pin the capture on top of everything as a floating sticker while you work from it — pinned images stay clickable, resizable and always on top.

Everything you have captured, in one window
A library window with a grid of every capture, right-click actions and drag-out. Underneath it is still just a folder of files — no database, nothing to migrate, nothing to lose if you move the folder.

Stays on your Mac
Framit has no account, no telemetry and no server. Text recognition runs on device through the macOS Vision framework. The Mac App Store build requests no network access at all — there is nothing for it to talk to.
